Data You Give Us Directly
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies that result. Pomona Residents Directory does not keep a copy of the submitted search in its own records. If a visitor writes to the contact mailbox, the message and any details included in it are visible to the operator for the purpose of responding.
Data Collected in Ordinary Logs
Hosting services may record an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, referring information, and timestamps. These ordinary server logs are reviewed in aggregate for site health, security, and broad traffic measures. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement where those services are enabled.
How Limited Data Is Used
Data is used to operate the pages, respond to messages, troubleshoot faults, understand aggregate traffic, and improve the reference material. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built from the limited information described here.
Links to Other Services
Pages link to Pomona and Los Angeles County offices, California agencies, courts, libraries, archives, and third-party search tools. The privacy policy of the destination controls information submitted there. Sponsored search results are supplied by another company and are subject to that provider's terms and privacy practices.
Who May Process Information
Hosting and technical service providers may process server logs while keeping the pages available. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Information may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it. No other disclosure is intended.
Security and Retention
The reference is served over an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational or security purposes that require them. There are no visitor accounts, passwords, or personal profiles stored in the ordinary site database.
Visitors Under 18
The material is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Personal information from anyone under 18 is not knowingly collected. If a parent or guardian believes that a minor sent information to the contact mailbox, a deletion request may be sent through the Contact page.
California Data Rights
Depending on scope and exemptions, California's Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, Civil Code §1798.100 et seq., may provide rights to know or access, correct, delete, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain sensitive-information uses, and receive nondiscriminatory treatment. Because little data is retained here, a request usually involves checking the contact mailbox and relevant server logs, then removing responsive information where appropriate.
Send a request through the Contact page. Government records held by Pomona, Los Angeles County, or California offices are outside the operator's control; a deletion or correction request for those records must go to the custodian. California's public-record framework is the California Public Records Act, Government Code §7920.000 et seq., which governs records held by agencies rather than this private reference.
California residents can also review the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform and Attorney General privacy guidance for qualifying data-broker or consumer-privacy questions. Those services do not erase deeds, court files, voter records, or other government originals.
Changes to This Policy
When the data practices or legal information change, a revised version will be posted here with its new wording. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
